Canyon Panoramic

March 11, 2015 By gcbgordon Leave a Comment

GrandCanyonSR4I completely forgot until the end about trying a panoramic shot. I had just enough time to get this one off. If your trying to learn a new camera and photography its best to do this activity solo. Being rushed by a big group who has no interest in photography makes it challenge to stay in a spot and work the shot.

It was extremely bright outside and this being my first experience outdoors with the camera I thought the LCD screen was dark because of the sun. However, sometime earlier in the day I somehow bumped my exposure setting and this was underexposed at -3.33.

Unfortunately, I didn’t figure this out until after about a dozen shots. How, frustrating it would have been if all the shots I took underexposed in error would have been unusable. Thankfully by shooting in raw I was able to make the images useable.

Photo Information:

  • 1/1000 at f/22
  • ISO 160
  • Focal Length 22mm

This is my journey of learning photography and sharing what I learn along the way.

Prior to this I strictly used the auto setting on my point and shoot camera.
